| This is actually a very old photograph I took back in 2004 or 2005. I've always liked it. I'm entering it into a photo contest to see how it will fare. This was taken in Los Angeles in an abandoned hospital. One of the first large abandoned buildings I ever explored and photographed. Judging from the gated off sections of hallway and the smaller isolation rooms, this was in the psyche ward of the hospital. It was still mostly untouched by vandals or film crews at the time. The hospital did serve as a mental health facility for a period before it was closed down. I have not been there since. It is currently owned by a production company and used primarily for filming. Which kind of takes the magic out of the place in my opinion. But I was happy to see it when I did. |
